Tips To Help Prevent Freezing Pipes:

With single digit temperatures in the forecast next week, consider the following tips to help keep your pipes from freezing:

  • Leave cabinet door under sink open to keep warm air circulating
  • Leave water dripping slowly from faucets during extremely cold periods
  • Prevent the water meter from freezing during the cold by keeping it securely covered
  • Make sure your home’s thermostat is not below 55 degrees
  • Insulate pipes especially for those near outside walls or in unheated areas of your home
  • Shut off the water temporarily if a line breaks
  • Close all air vents and other openings in the crawlspace under your home during periods of cold air

Lastly, should the unexpected happen, call SERVPRO of Milford-Orange-Stratford to help you make it, "Like it never even happened."
